RX launches Sustainable Booths Program
The initiative began at Expolux 2024 and saw the participation of 77% of the brands present at the event.
São Paulo, October 2024 – RX, one of the world’s largest corporate event organizers, launched the Sustainable Booths Project at Expolux 2024, promoting the conscious use, reuse, and disposal of materials. The initiative included the participation of 77% of the brands present at the event.
This initiative is part of the company’s ESG project, aiming to create events that more consciously and measurably engage with the social realities of the markets and communities they serve.
“This is one of the actions we are implementing as part of our path toward reducing carbon emissions, along with measures such as eliminating the use of carpets at ISC, an integrated security solutions event also organized by RX, and post-event reporting to our Global ESG department,” says Carlos Abreu, RX’s Operations Director for Latin America.
The program involves categorizing participating booths as gold, silver, or bronze based on the sustainability levels demonstrated in their exhibition areas. Held from September 17 to 20 at Expo Center Norte, Expolux recorded that 75% of booths were classified as Silver, 19% as Bronze, and only 6% went unclassified. Recognized booths were awarded seals displayed within their spaces.
Here’s how the classification works:
Bronze: This level involves reusing walls and floor structures.
Silver: Includes all elements of the Bronze category, plus the reuse of lighting, headers, hanging structures, ceilings, and floor coverings.
Gold: Incorporates all elements of Bronze and Silver, adding proper disposal practices for banners, backdrops, and printed materials.
To participate in the program, brands must complete a form, with responses reviewed by the RX team during booth assembly and disassembly to verify compliance. Additionally, a specialized team conducts audits during these phases of the event.
“The Sustainable Booths Program marks another important milestone for RX in reducing the environmental impact of its events. Data collection, analysis, on-site auditing, and carbon footprint calculations are already part of our operational agenda, alongside ongoing employee training and awareness. RX aims to achieve carbon neutrality by 2040, and this program plays a vital role in reaching that goal,” concludes Abreu.
